# 21 podcasts

In week 4 I subscribed to a couple of podcasts, but now had more time to explore pod directories. I found podcast.net the most easy to use. Finding Australian content a little bit harder but it was there. I have added Radio National Book Show and Radio National Book reading to my RSS feeds. There are numerous uses for this technology in libraries, training and education, podcasts via our web page of book readings for children, teenages and adults. The list is limitless.

# 20 You Tube

I already had an account with You Tube, but only used it to watch videos sent to me by friends and family. After exploring this site further, I discovered that you can save videos to favourites, post to blogs etc.

You Tube could be used as a training and educational tool in libraries. Information is not just contained in books any longer it is also contained in all forms of media, this is a great tool to share information contained in video clips. I have chosen a favourite video of Leon Davis's highlights.

# 19 Discovering web 2.0 tools

These tools are certainly enabling users to create and share content online. I looked in the winners category for the web 2.0 awards. The city guides grabbed my attention, although the three winners, Yelp, Judy's book and yahoo local were all based on American cities. These guides are a great idea where anyone can add favourite city sights, local facilities and favourite restaurants with reviews.

Eventful however was more relevant as it is worldwide and had a great variety of upcoming events in the three Australian states that I looked at, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Not only the usual upcoming music events are listed but charity functions, learning and educational events as well as politics and activism events.

# 18 Zoho writer

I opened a zoho account and published a chocolate balls recipe from a friend that I intend to make for xmas. zoho was easy to use and free. I also had a quick look at google docs and spreadsheets. Definately worth exploring when I have more time.

chocolate balls

chocolate balls

cocoa

300 grams melting chocolate

Place butter and cream in saucepan, melt, and when boiling add chocolate. Stir over low heat until melted. Cool. Stir in brandy and transfer to bowl. Cool in fridge, stirring occasionally. When firm, form teaspoons of mixture into balls, roll in sifted cocoa. Refrigerate. Lasts up to two weeks in airtight container.
